Screening Procedures:

  • Receipt of a completed application, resume and cover letter.
  • A minimum of three current written letters of reference from previous or current directors, principal, and supervisors.
  • Personal interview.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Appropriate Standard Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate for the given subject area for which you are applying.
  • Preferred experience in an urban school setting
  • The following clearances are required:
    • PA Criminal,
    • PA Child Abuse
    • FBI clearances,
    • Physical including TB Test
  • Proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Teach targeted literacy intervention to small groups of student’s daily using research-based intervention curriculum and resources.
  • Acts as a resource person to promote student and teacher growth in learning and teaching mathematics and as a mathematics instructor for students in need of acceleration, correction, or remediation.
  • Works collaboratively with teachers periodically to implement a quality mathematics program that is research-based and differentiated for student needs.
  • Supports teachers by modeling instructional strategies and lessons, developing and modifying lesson plans
  • Supports all students in a variety of ways to learn mathematics, and expanding teacher and parent understanding of current mathematics research and knowledge.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and analysis of mathematics assessments and for the facilitation of the school-wide math plan.
  • Actively investigates and considers new ideas that improve mathematics teaching and learning and draws on current education policy and research in mathematics.
  • Draws upon professional, community and technological resources, inside and outside the school, to improve mathematics teaching and learning.
  • Collects and maintains appropriate records of student progress.
  • Thoughtfully advocates for and supports all students with rich, deep and engaging mathematics curriculum and learning experiences below, at, and above grade level.
  • Set student goals and instructional outcomes, based on specific student assessments in math.
  • Use assessments to diagnose reading strengths and weaknesses, and match these skills with appropriate techniques.
  • Assist teachers with the collection and analysis of data.

  • Strong working knowledge of technology used to differentiate instruction for students.
