The middle school soccer coach is responsible for conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques.

 

SCREENING PROCEDURES:

  • Receipt of a completed application, resume and cover letter
  • A minimum of two current written letters of reference from previous or current athletic directors, head coaches, or supervisors
  • Personal interview

MINIMUM EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates must have:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Most possess strong interpersonal, organizational and management skills
  • Knowledge of soccer rules and regulations
  • Previous coaching experience preferred
  • The following are required:
    • PA Criminal clearances
    • PA Child Abuse clearances
    • FBI clearances
    • Physical including TB Test
  • Proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Possess effective coaching techniques and skills
  • Ability to follow established procedures in the event of an injury
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students
  • Ability to follow state, regional, and district regulations governing the program
  • Act as a team representative and promotes the soccer team by communicating with the news media, booster clubs, service clubs, and other organizations
  • Maintain eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and other related records
  • Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities
  • Participate in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, community service events and pep assemblies
  • Model sportsman like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators
  • Ability to perform any other related duties as assigned by the Principal & Athletic Director or other appropriate administrators
